Peachy

Here are samples of new creations of jewellery and clothing for Annette, for An East End Tale! I am currently working on style and shapes regarding the clothing. The striped top, is a shape that I am really keen to team with a pair of jeans - not skinnies! Again, it is a another outift I would like to see Annette in, when she meets Michael for the first itme.

I changed the blac skirt I had originally posted; I decided to jazz it up a little, and with some input from my mum, we added a pretty boarder and I also tried a another variation with white lace, to be used when Annette meets Michael for the first time.

The Black and peach necklace reminds me of Annette a lot. I would like her to wear that in the first scene; it is bright and funky, and attractive. If Annette wore a dark top with jeans, and the necklace, I think it would be a good combination.

Enjoy viewing my experiments
And please do visit my website of you would like to purchase anything!

The Jewellery

Here are some of the pieces of jewellery I had in mind when Annette first walks into Michael's life. They are bold, feminine and pretty, just like her character. I have included two different versions of my "Zodiac" medallion range, which has been very popular. These pieces are bold and would match well with the outfit below. The other two necklaces, are base colours and they are classically arranged and strung, and would also match well with Annette's first outfit.
The pieces are classy and not OTT! And they match well with a range of different outfits, so the jewellery can be used throughout the film.

Annette's 1st Scene

"Annette walks in to the cafe, seeing Michael dance all over the shop..." Copyright 2007 Charles Michel Duke

The pieces above are one of a few design concepts I have for when we first see Annette walk into Michael's life, at the university union. I had originally pictured Annette in a pair of shorts, and then I revised the idea and thought I would dress her in a long pencil skirt with a funky edge, as she is very funky, and a bright person. Therefore, I decorated the split with lace trim. I am also going to make a shorter version of the skirt, to match the yellow vest top as I have another image in my head for her!!!
The script is also set in Autumn/Winter months, so I will be accessorising Annette with a knitted cardigan, scarf, tights, boots, and ofcourse, jewellery, from my collection. Her character is quirky, so I want to have fun and bright accessories, that are tasteful!!! I will also mellow the brightness of the yellow vest top with the knitted cardigan - the colur of which, I am still debating!!!
As for her footwear, she will be wearing boots, either spaceboots or knee-high black boots.
I will post the matching jewellery for the outfit on the weekend, and I shall also be working on an underwear piece I have in mind!!!!!
Therefore, this outfit is only the beginning....

Annette's Dress

"Where the hell have you been?" says Annette to Michael as he turns up, decidedly late.

Here is on of the first pieces I have made for Annette and it is during a very intense scene between the two main characters - her love interest 'Michael' and herself. I have a few ideas in mind, but I wanted to dress her up in something sexy, bright and fun. Although the storyline is set in the winter, Annette is at home and she has made the effort to look sexy and fun in her little neglige.

I used a multi-coloured flower print made of polyster, with a black lace hem. It contains sharp colours, yet is very delicate - like Annette. Although she is fesity, strong and indpendent, she also has a soft, feminine side, and I really wanted to bring that out in this outfit. So I am going to call this outfit 'Annette's Dress'.

An East End Tale - The Deisgn Files

Hello All! I am writing this blog to tantalise your taste buds....with my collection of jewellery and underwear/clothing. I am currently working in various projects, one of which includes designing the wardrobe for 'An East End Tale- 2' by Charles Michel Duke. Check out www.funkyjewellerylondon.com or www.myspace.com/jewelleryboxcatalogue for more pictures of my work.

An East End Tale was written by Charles Michel Duke in 2004. He wanted to create a story based on London's very own superhero. Charles wanted to create a story in which evoked London's heart, with a superhero twist and superhero budget! Charles also wrote and made a prequel in 2005 - 'An East End Tale 1' - www.myspace.com/aneastendtale

For more on An East Tale, please link to the Director's blogspot - www.charlesmichelduke.blogspot.com

Over the next few weeks I shall be showcasing the wardrobe I have designed for one of the main characters - 'Annette' - a warm, feisty and independent female who knows what she wants and follows her heart. As an archaeologist, she is also not afraid to get her hands dirty...
